Valerie Watts, the Chief Executive of Aberdeen City Council will officially open ‘The Events Event 2012’  at 9am on Thursday 19th January.  Although Valerie has been in the post less than a year she has already stated that she fully supports and values the Event Industry and the importance it has to the economy of the area.

Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) is North-east Scotland's leading private sector, member-focused, business organisation. The Chamber represents more than 1,200 businesses with 90,000 employees in the private sector covering all industry sectors, ranging in size from sole traders to multi-national corporations. Prior to the doors opening at ‘The Events...event’ they will host a Business breakfast that will compliment the exhibition. Members can then leave the Breakfast and gain entry to the exhibition as the doors open.

Business Network Scotland
Business Network Scotland (BNS) organises structured but informal networking events in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Through BNS you can meet the people to help you build your business. Decision makers from a wide range of businesses attend the monthly BNS events. The events are usually held from 12 to 2pm and include lunch and a presentation by a BNS member. Business is very much on the menu with thousands of pounds of business exchanged between members. BNS will be hosting a Lunch event on the same day as ‘The Events...event’ at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre and many of their members will be attending the event.

AVC Media Launch YrWall at

YrWall was shown for the first time in Scotland by AVC Media who announced at the show that they have become the sole distributor for this interactive sensation in Scotland. YrWall is a fantastic interactive tool for creating digital, virtual graffiti on a large screen using a modified spray paint can.

b36 Sporting Dinner Seminar b49

A seminar on Sporting Dinners was held with Aberdeen manager Criag Brown, soccer legend Frank McAvennie and top after dinner speaker Bill Copeland giving an example of their storytelling and experiences. The session was compered by Ian Thain and apart from listening to the ‘speakers’ they gave advice on how to run a sporting event.

Our live acts in 2011

The stage area was busy throughout the day with live performances from Feeva, Burlesque, Splash and two new tributes to Paulo Matini and Cheryl Cole.

Cameron Presentations was the main Audio Visual sponsor and they showcased the fantastic video wall that was used as a backdrop for the stage area. They also provided the LED bar area and furniture. They enjoyed a buoyant show as a result and made many new contacts in the Aberdeen area and beyond.
 

My Sweet Memories

One exhibitor ‘My Sweet Memories’ proved a roaring success with their top quality cup cakes and accessories. Many corporate clients were amazed at the quality of their products and the company received a very healthy level of bookings following the show.
